Aside from magnificent music that prevailed in this concert, A Christmas Prayer was exactly what it was. The support of worthy charities that has been the hallmark of OCS since its inception was directed toward assisting a child and finding a cure for a crippling bone disease. Once more we featured a combination of the traditional and the most unusual. It spanned the world, reflecting the music of Africa, Russia, Ireland, and the Caribbean.
Few people know that the great modern composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber composed a Requiem, which he dedicated to the victims of violence in Northern Ireland. This concert was indeed a prayer for those suffering from disease, starvation, war, and political unrest throughout the world.
