In the world of finance it is called an IPO. In the world of opera and theater, it is called a Premier. In the wonderful world of the Olympia Choral Society it was called A Tribute of Carols, and represented the first faltering steps to bring the dreams of Terrance Robert Bernard Shaw to fruition. Faltering? Not so! Those eighteen ground-breaking voices and their youthful director (who was yet to graduate from college) took bold strides, making the OCS a living, breathing, dynamic organization whose mission it was and always will be to provide free concerts for the benefit of community charities.
Secondarily, it provided those eighteen voices (and many more to be added later) with the opportunity to express themselves through music, thus fulfilling the final element of the mission to which it is dedicated. All who have followed those eighteen as performers or who have simply enjoyed subsequent concerts may take delight in their continuing commitment.
